The moustache, part 2 of no-doubt-many

It's time I was honest with myself.

This moustache thing. You know, the thing that people can't help asking Bradley Whitford about. The thing that even he is starting to sound perhaps a little bored of, unless I've misread it.

The thing with the moustache is this: it makes him look old. Not like, old old, but too old to be my future husband. Too old to be Josh Lyman. Definitely too old to be the hero in my novel. It makes him look like other people with moustaches who remind me of dad figures rather than boyfriend figures.

If you listen very carefully you can hear the sound of a bubble popping.

WOO HOO....NOW I have him all to mysef!!! I am respectfully disagreeing with you...especially after seeing the video interviews...I THINK HE IS AS ADORABLE AS EVER...YES..I PREFER HIM W/O FACIAL HAIR..BUT I STILL THINK HE HIS AN EXTREMELY HANDSOME MAN....Boyfriend material??? I'm thinking more like permanent husband material!! If I didin't already have the love of my life.. I'd be out there on the prowl!! :-)

Yes but Rosemary, that's the point - he and you are the same age, roughly!

And don't be putting words in my mouth - I did not say that he is not handsome. I did not say that is not adorable. I did not say that he is not husband material.
I did say, though, that the moustache serves as a reminder that perhaps he and I are not meant to be.

If he shaves it off, however, it will make it easier to overlook our - ahem - 20 year age gap. (Which, I'm sure, is the only thing standing between us.)

As the person administering the interview arse-whip, I was left with the impression that Whitford is more bemused than annoyed by the attention the moustache is getting in the ramp-up to "The Good Guys." I also know that attention will give way to the whole Stark character in later episodes. As Nix said, "The moustache plays."

Thanks for the inside preview, Just Devin! Amazed that he's so surprised that those of us who fell in love with Josh Lyman (and got a little confused as to the boundaries between fact and fiction) might be a little distressed by developments...
I've heard rumours he won't be shaving it off after the show, though, and that is very upsetting indeed....
